An introduction to Studio Lighting:
This half-day class will cover studio lighting basics:
- Both continuous and strobe lights will be demonstrated.
- Practical understanding of how to use and modify light, and how to measure light.
- When to use your in-camera meter and when to use a hand-held light meter.
- Tips and tricks for how to get pro-studio lighting on a budget.
All camera formats are welcome, but as a prerequisite, they must be capable of synchronizing with electronic flash units. If you have any questions, please contact the instructor prior to registering.
About the instructor:
Scott Davis is an internationally recognized platinum printer and published author. He shoots portraiture and the human figure in the studio with large format cameras. He has been practicing the craft of fine art photography for over 15 years. He received formal training at Maryland Institute College of Art, the Center for Alternative Photography in New York and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC. His work has been exhibited nationally and locally, and published in magazines including Metropolitan Home and Creative Image Maker.
